No shortage of tobacco here
There is so much tobacco planted here. Every little plot of ground is in tobacco.
Just thought you might like to know what the plant looks like and how it is harvested.
This is not an advertisement for the use of tobacco.
Because we have had so much rain the bottom leaves are affected the most so they are cut first. Later the top leaves will be harvested. Too much rain has turned the leaves yellow, too.
The leaves are dumped into trailers and taken to be dried. "In the olden days"
the leaves were hung in little barns and dried. Many are still standing. There is one on the property here. We don't know how it is done now.
