April events
Two very special events for which we have no pictures, were the Seder, the Passover meal, on Good Friday and Easter Sunrise Service.
The Horns did a magnificent job of preparing the physical dinner and relating the spiritual significance for us as Christians.
Easter sunrise was clear and beautiful but the temperature was in the middle 40's. Everyone was bundled up and covered with blankets. After the service, we all went to the barn where the Damings had prepared a delicious breakfast.
After church on April 12 we drove 2 1/2 hours to Emerald Isle, NC to spend the week. Most of the week was rainy, windy and cold. So what did we do? We had computers, of course, some of us read Louis L'Amour books, Claudia put a puzzle together, we played scrabble, ate, slept and enjoyed the view.
Between rains, David dug a hole as deep as he is tall.
Emerald Isle is a south facing beach. It is very confusing because the view is to Florida not Europe. The sun did not rise or set in the right place.
There were schools of dolphin swimming every afternoon. The pelicans kept us entertained.
On Friday, Peter, Kelly and the boys came which livened things up. Also, when the sun came out we enjoyed sunning, shelling, walking and Scott,Peter, Claudia, and David did some kayaking.
Sunday April, 26 was the first swim day of the year. What a beautiful day!! After church, people changed into their swim togs and waded or dived into the pond. They said that the water was warm on top but cold down deep.
