Snow Dec.25,2010

Eight inches of snow fell on Christmas night which made it impossible to get to church. A wonderful fire blazed in the fireplace on Sunday. David and Monica, Taylor and Blair trudged through the snow from their respective houses. Peter and Kelly had lost power so they had spent the night. What a joyful day to have all the family here with no place to go and nothing to do but play in the snow and eat snow-cream and left-overs from Christmas Eve dinner.

Since we could not find our camera for days including the snow days, we would like to share the word search that Phillip Bradrick did, reflecting on snow.

Here are some verses that I found doing a word search on snow and reflecting on God's marvelous power.

“Have you entered the treasury of.. snow,
Or have you seen the treasury of hail, Job 38:22

As snow in summer and rain in harvest, So honor is not fitting for a fool. Proverb 26:1

She is not afraid of snow for her household,
For all her household is clothed with scarlet. Proverb 31:21

Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it.His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. Matthew 28:1-6

God thunders marvelously with His voice;
He does great things which we cannot comprehend.For He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth’;
Likewise to the gentle rain and the heavy rain of His strength. Job 37;5-6

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;
Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Psalm 51:7

He gives snow like wool;
He scatters the frost like ashes;
Psalm 147:16

Fire and hail, snow and clouds;
Stormy wind, fulfilling His word;
Psalm 148: 8

and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band. His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire; His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters; He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength. And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.
Revelation 1:13-18

Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Tsantles

Blair and Taylor
Taylor preached his own wedding message. It was a call for all to consider Christ and that the marriage ceremony is a picture of Christ as head of the Church, His Bride, as the husband is head of his bride.

The photographer called for all those related on both sides. We assembled and she was amazed and said, " are ALL of you REALLY related?"
Th
Yes, Lester was there.
The reception was at the barn. So walk through the barn and out to the tent for cookies, cheese cakes, sweet breads and soup and artisan bread.

The wedding cake was a cheese cake all dressed up in wedding finery.
Off they were taken in the golf cart to the neighbors to change into travel attire.

Sunday Baptism April,11

It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon as we walked down to the pond to witness Jorge Ruiz baptize his son Nik in obedience to Our Lord Jesus Christ. "Then Peter said to them"Repent and let everyone of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." Acts 2: 38

The white line in these pictures is the windshield of the golf cart.

Spring Joys

Saturday morning April 10, Peter and Kelly treated us to a delicious Belgian Waffle breakfast. Yummmmmy!
Knox and Triumph loved the whipped cream.

Left to right Peter, his brother, Stephen, Tyler Hutchinson, Scott, Bill Blair, Claudia.
At the other end of the table left to right Blair, Claudia Knox behind Claudia, Deborah, Triumph, Kelly and Peter.
the Bradricks purchased 50 baby chicks. Forty eight have survived. The boys are fascinated with them. The chicks will grow up to be laying hens. There are two roosters in the mix. One is black.

Another sign of spring is pollen. This year was a bumper year for pollen. Every thing was covered in yellow: cars, animals, roads, people....everything. Claudia's little black dog was covered in yellow dust. The pollen blew like blowing snow and the air was yellow like smog. The ponds were covered, then a wind came up and blew it all to the edges.
Finally, a heavy rain came and washed it all from the trees and cars and roads and now everything is beautiful as spring should be.
