Isle of Palms, SC & Longboat Key, Florida
After Isle of Palms, we arrived at Lake Panasoffkee where Paula and Dave have the Harbor Lights Restaurant. We came not only to see Paula and Dave but to help in the Restaurant for Mother's Day. Ken served behind the buffet table, Frances and Mary bussed tables and served tea and coffee, Libby did a little of everything...keeping the salads and dessert table filled and greeting and seating guests. Actually the night before Mother's Day was the busiest. We all slept well that night.
Georgetown, SC David and Janet Somers were the perfect hosts. We thank you very much for giving us a great time.
One of the things that I(Mary) look forward to is She Crab Soup with roe. It sounds gross but is absolutely delicious.
This picture is out of place. It was taken on the USS York Town. Bill and David are standing in front of the names of those who have received the Congressional Medal of Honor. There were some names of men Bill had met in Fredericksburg at the Symposiums. There were names of men David knew personally from his years as Captain in the Navy. One of his assignments was to command the Southern Command in Panama.
This was our first time to learn of kite boarding. Must be fun but looks like it doesn't look easy. We watched them from the deck of the Isle of Palms beach house.
What a great beach house. Loved the glass elevator that transported our luggage up to the third floor.
A day was spent at the Middleton Plantation learning about the life of the slaves working in the rice fields.
Our guide was telling how the slaves were kept under control by fear, fiction and favor. Too many times scripture was badly misused.
Only three cousins were able to attend the "cousin reunion".

The day that Libby, Janet and I went shopping, to lunch and to tea at the Charleston Place downtown Charleston, the men went on board the USS Yorktown.
