Hope Baptist Church Ladies Tea

These boys did such a good job of serving the ladies and taking care of our every want. Thank you all very much.
The winning hat. It had a teacup with flowers, a tea bag, gloves pinned on with a cameo. You were very creative, Jennifer Watson.
We all thank you, Kristina Breagy, for your planning and organizing and making this a special day for us.

Knox Defender Bradrick gets a bath

Triumph Perseverance is two years old on July 9

Triumph greeted us all then wanted Knox involved, too.
Happy Birthday, Triumph!!!

Peter read Rudyard Kipling's poem It Couldn't Be Done" to Triumph before opening gifts. Triumph listened to every word.

After opening the legos, the tractor and the bulldozer, sidewalk chalk and a sock monkey, Triumph had to clean up every piece of paper to make things tidy.

Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Triumph, Happy birthday to you.

Now BLOW and he did.

The guests were Great grandparents, Bill and Mary, Grandparents, Scott and Deborah, Aunts Claudia, Blair and Kathryn, Uncle Phillip and wife Katie and friend Renee who came with Kathryn from Washington.

A quiet respite with the Noahs and Sagamore Hill

After the hustle and bustle of Boston-lectures everyday and evening, parades, walking to historic sites and talking with many people-the stop-over at the Noahs was balm for the soul.
Many, many thanks to Ashok, Sona and Andrea for your hospitality, food, the spiritual uplift and fellowship. This was what we all needed before returning home.
We traveled in a caravan of the Damings motor home, a 15 passenger van, an excursion and our Avalon. Twenty seven of us descended on the Noahs for the night.

The Noahs back yard provided much pleasure what with the pool, the Zip-line and trampoline.
Andrea is holding Knox while other are eating.
Kelly entertained us with the piano and flute.  Andrea is proficient on both instruments and several others.
We are all enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.

On to Sagamore Hill...Sona and Andrea prepared a very elegant picnic for us after the tour of Teddy Roosevelt's home. If you have not read about Teddy Roosevelt and Sagamore Hill, please do. He was a principled visionary of our time.

More, please.
Peter is showing Daniel, Adam, Noah and Triumph how to roll down the hill.
The Gang is all here.  The Damings, the Browns, Meghan Dhom, Ryan Glick and Taylor Tsantles.

The carving above the door is latin for "He who plants will preserve"

Boston July 4

This remarkable replica of the Liberty Bell, on display in the lobby of the Park Plaza Hotel, was rung 13 times by several children at the Reformation 500 Celebration. This full scale bell was commissioned by the Providence Forum. It was forged by Whitechapel Foundry in London-the maker of the original- and its yoke features wood from the last of the thirteen original Liberty Trees.

Make Way for Ducklings...Boston is the setting of this book and the Swan is the symbol of Boston. Swan boats take sightseers up and down the Charles River.

Mama Swan is sitting on eggs while Papa keeps guard near by.
At 8:00 AM we all gathered in the Public Gardens around the George Washington statue to begin a parade through the park.

Five brothers came in uniform to play their fifes to begin the parade. They also won best costume. There were so many people who came in costume. However, this was a good choice for the winner.

George Washington came behind the fifers and led the parade.

Some of our group watched the fireworks on a hillside where it was not crowded. However, Barry Daming took his three oldest daughters and me(Mary)down to the water so that we could hear the Boston Pops two hour concert and watch the fireworks from a much closer vantage. I was thrilled to be there and experience the Patriotic sing-along with 500,000 other people. Those on the hill could not hear the music. But they had a great time of visiting. The thirty minute fireworks display was spectacular. There were displays we had not seen before.
